Highlights from the Peace Walk as Police, Youths and Stakeholders Unite for Peace, Security and Stronger Community Partnership

BTVNEWS: The Kaduna State Police Command has commenced its three-day Police–Youth Engagement Programme to commemorate International Youth Day 2026, with a Walkathon/Peace Walk held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, as the opening activity.

The event brought together police officers, youths, youth organizations, community leaders and other stakeholders in a colourful demonstration of unity, peaceful coexistence and collective commitment to building a safer and more secure Kaduna State.

The Peace Walk also provided an opportunity for participants to promote healthy living, responsible citizenship, community participation and stronger Police–Youth relations, while reinforcing the importance of collaboration in crime prevention and community safety.

The three-day programme, organized in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and themed “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” will continue with a Medical Outreach on Friday, August 21, before culminating in a Lecture and Interactive Youth Engagement Session on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

The programme is designed to deepen constructive engagement between the Police and young people while addressing critical issues including crime prevention, cultism, drug abuse, political and digital thuggery, responsible use of social media, youth participation in community policing and emerging security challenges.
