Two medical doctors among suspects arrested in Nasarawa, as investigation expands

BTvNEWS: The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), through the Force Investigation Department Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS), has arrested four suspects, including two medical doctors, over an alleged organ-harvesting syndicate reportedly operating in Nasarawa State and neighbouring areas.

The arrests form part of ongoing intelligence-led operations by the police to dismantle organised criminal networks and curb activities considered threats to public safety and national security.

According to the Force, investigations into the alleged syndicate are ongoing, with detectives working to establish the full scope of the operation, identify other persons allegedly connected to the network and bring them to justice.

The police said the operation was conducted in accordance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to intensify intelligence-driven operations against violent crimes, organised criminal activities and emerging security threats across the country.

The Force further stated that its operatives would continue to pursue leads arising from the investigation, while efforts are being made to apprehend other suspected members of the alleged criminal network.

The Nigeria Police Force urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide credible and timely information that could assist investigators in uncovering criminal activities and strengthening ongoing efforts to protect lives and property.

The police assured the public that investigations would continue, with appropriate legal action to follow based on the outcome of the inquiry.
