Nollywood Mourns Veteran Actor Taiwo Hassan After Decades of Remarkable Screen Excellence

My profound condolences go to the family, friends, colleagues, admirers, and the entire Nollywood community over the reported passing of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Ogogo was an extraordinary thespian whose distinctive raspy voice, commanding screen presence, versatility, and remarkable performances made him one of the most recognisable figures in Yoruba cinema. For more than four decades, he contributed immensely to the growth, development, and enduring legacy of Nigeria’s film industry.

His departure leaves a profound void in Nollywood and in the hearts of the countless audiences who were entertained and inspired by his remarkable artistry. While his physical presence may be gone, his works, unforgettable characters, and contributions to Yoruba and Nigerian cinema will continue to speak for generations.

May Allaah, the Most High, accept his return, forgive his shortcomings, have mercy upon him, and raise him in the best outlook on the Day of Recompense. Aameen.
