BTvNEWS: Alhaji Shehu Sani Sado outlines the movement’s socio-political vision, youth empowerment drive, and strategic endorsements during an exclusive interview with BTV on Wednesday in Kaduna.

The National President of Capacity Movement, Alhaji Shehu Sani Sado—business mogul, philanthropist, seasoned politician, and Managing Director of Stainless Marine Services Limited—has reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to credible leadership and youth reorientation across Nigeria.

Granting an exclusive interview to BTV at the Capacity Movement office in Kaduna on Wednesday, the Igabi Local Government indigene described the organisation as a socio-political movement and pressure group committed to transforming governance narratives and repositioning young people from dependency to productivity.

Sado explained that Capacity Movement operates on a clearly defined leadership framework captured in the acronym “CAPACITY,” with each letter representing core values: Credibility, Accountability, Projection, Ability, Creativity, Integrity, Tenacity, and Yielding.

He noted that the movement was birthed in Kaduna and has since expanded across the North-West, with a footprint in Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, and Bauchi States, adding that its national outlook is driven by the need for value-based leadership across political offices, institutions, and civil organisations.

On national politics, the Capacity Movement leader disclosed the group’s endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly applauding the administration’s tax reform agenda and economic policies. According to him, Nigeria is now being credited among the fastest-growing economies globally, stressing that the movement harbours no reservations about the President’s leadership and is poised to support his re-election bid in 2027.

Sado also announced the movement’s endorsement of Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, citing his administration’s efforts in tackling insecurity, road construction and rehabilitation, support to farmers, and the promotion of peace and unity across religious and ethnic divides in the state.

He described the Governor’s performance as “competent and people-centred,” noting that these achievements align with the Capacity Movement’s governance checklist.

Turning to the 2027 senatorial contest, the National President revealed that Distinguished Ambassador Yerima Usman Shettima has heeded the call of Capacity Movement and patriotic Nigerians to vie for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District seat.

He said the movement has thrown its weight behind Shettima after extensive background checks, describing him as a long-standing activist and philanthropist with over two and a half decades of humanitarian service, a veteran of the pro-democracy struggle, and a member within NADECO-related advocacy platforms.

He further noted Shettima’s past leadership as National President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) and his current role as National President of the Arewa Stakeholders Consultative Initiative.

Sado stressed that Kaduna Central is a strategic senatorial district that requires credible representation, expressing dissatisfaction with the current level of representation in the Senate.

He said the movement’s decision to back Shettima was based on “credibility, capability, and credentials,” adding that prayers and mobilisation efforts are already underway to actualise the senatorial bid in 2027.

The Capacity Movement President further announced the endorsement of Hajiya Maryam Baba Adamu for the Kaduna South Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, describing her as a vibrant young from the opposite gender who met the movement’s criteria following due diligence.

He disclosed that the Capacity Movement boasts an estimated 1.8 million members in Kaduna State alone, with nationwide spread cutting across youths, women, and diverse socio-cultural backgrounds, irrespective of religion or tribe.

Sado added that the movement has aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and will not engage in “double-face” politics, noting that APC membership is a prerequisite for its endorsements.

He urged Nigerians to shun vote-buying, reject material inducements, and come out en masse to vote for credible leaders endorsed by the Capacity Movement for a better Nigeria.
