BTvNEWS: As Nigeria marks 65 years of independence from British rule, Convener of the Northern Stakeholders Consultative Forum, Yerima Shettima, has expressed hope for a better and more prosperous nation.

Speaking to the newsmen at a rally organized by the Capacity Movement and Ultimate Riders Motorcycle Club (URMC) in Kaduna on Wednesday, Shettima emphasized the importance of celebrating Nigeria’s unity in diversity and indivisibility, irrespective of political divide and leanings.

Shettima, a youth leader and mobilizer, led a procession of youths through Kaduna metropolis, chanting songs of solidarity and waving the nation’s flag. He called for resilience, faith, and loyalty in the project of one Nigeria built on equality, fairness, and spirit of togetherness.

“As you can see, Nigerians can celebrate in gatherings today, in stark contrast to what was obtainable in the past when some parts of the country were virtually under the control of insurgents,” he said.

“President Bola Tinubu is a patriotic leader with the interest of his subjects and the country at heart. His long-term reforms to position Nigeria on a solid base is a good example of a high sense of sacrifice and commitment by Mr. President to make the country great and greater,” Shettima added.

“We are also blessed with a capable Governor in Kaduna State who has been relentless in his efforts to build a better life and prosperous future for our children,” he further stressed.

When asked about his potential bid for the Senate seat for Kaduna Central in 2027, he said: “I am not oblivious of their consistent calls, urging them to be patient and await the right time for my response,” he further emphasized.

At the same event, President of the Capacity Movement, Shehu Sado, charged the youth to be politically active by participating in activities that would shape the present and future of their beloved country.

“We will mobilize grassroots support to actualize the success of Shettima at the poll in 2027 as elected senator of Kaduna Central Zone,” Sado said.

“With leaders like Shettima, Tinubu, and Sani, who are committed to the country’s progress, Nigerians can look forward to a brighter future,” he added.
