BTvNEWS: The Northern Stakeholders Consultative Forum (NSCF) has cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) against considering Senator Lawal Usman Adamu’s potential return to the party.
According to the NSCF, such a move would be a desperate attempt to salvage his dwindling political relevance, BTV News reports.
In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by its spokesperson, Comrade Danjuma Paul, the NSCF accused Senator LA of political inconsistency and lacking genuine commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
“Senator LA’s recent political trajectory has been nothing short of opportunistic,” the statement read.
“From defecting from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and now allegedly exploring ties with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), his political manoeuvres reveal a pattern of survivalist politics rather than public service,” the group added.
“His record is marked by an absence of significant legislation or developmental initiatives,” the group stressed.
“At a time when political parties should be prioritising competence and genuine representation, it would be unwise to welcome an individual whose political career has been defined by inconsistency and underperformance,” the group further emphasized.
The NSCF reaffirmed its commitment to supporting candidates with a clear track record of service. The group urged party leaders to focus on strengthening the APC with credible and committed individuals.
The NSCF’s warning highlights the challenges facing Senator LA as he navigates the complex world of Nigerian politics.
With his political future uncertain, it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold.
The development comes amid growing concerns about the APC’s ability to attract and retain credible candidates.
As the party looks to strengthen its position, it may need to prioritize candidates with a proven track record of service and commitment to their constituents.
