BTvNEWS: The Kaduna State Police Command has announced a restriction of movement in four local government areas – Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru – ahead of the Saturday, August 16, 2025, bye-elections.

According to DSP Mansir Hassan, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the restriction, which takes effect from 12:00 a.m., is part of security arrangements to ensure public safety, prevent any breach of peace, and guarantee a smooth and orderly electoral process.

The details of the statement indicate that the movement restriction will apply to all residents in the specified local government areas, with exemptions for personnel on essential duties and individuals with valid election assignments.

Members of the public are strongly advised to comply with this directive to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free election, ASP Mansur stated.

The Command urges residents to conduct themselves peacefully and cooperate with security agencies to ensure the success of the bye-elections.

The bye-elections will take place in Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Zaria Kewaye State Constituency, and Basawa State Constituency.
